A Merry Christmas | Artdeco Creations

Hi Everyone, Anita back with you today, keeping the Christmas theme on a roll.
Hopefully you are like me and getting a good 'stash' of cards ready to send in about 4 weeks
out to family and friends.

For today's card I have gone back to the gorgeous collection Let Every Day Be Christmas from Couture Creations.

To start I chose a selection of designs from the ephemera pack and held them aside. Next I cut my card base to 5 x 7 " in the Ultimate Crafts cardstock in IVORY. I also cut a piece of the matte gold damask mirror board  1/4" smaller than the 5 x7" card front and then cut a second piece of ivory cardstock 1/4" smaller than the mirror board.

Taking the smaller piece of IVORY cardstock and hotfoiled my sentiment
on the front of the cardstock in matte gold foil.

Next I took several of the ephemera pieces and stuck them down around the edges of the
hotfoiled cardstock. Then I trimmed off the excess overhang.

I layered the mirror board on top of the card base and then added the smaller ivory cardstock piecd on top of the mirror board.

To finish the card off I added a few extra pieces of ephemera of the base pieces using some 3D foam dots to give more depth and then added a couple of flowers and some gold coloured sprigs and a few
pearls were scattered over the front.

Here are a few closeups.

Happy Memories | Artdeco Creations

Hi Everyone, Anita back with you again today on the blog.

For my post today I thought I would share with you a fairly quick layout that I have created using the Bohemian Bouquet from Ultimate Crafts and designed by Denise Boddey.
It is such a beautiful collection and today my focus was more on the papers and layering.

This photo is of my brother and his gorgeous two children Sabine and
Thomas celebrating Father's Day this year.

My layout was pretty quick to put together.  Once I had the idea of what I wanted to do in my head and had chose my patterned papers it came together within 1 hour.

I chose the green and white damask paper to use as the base for my layout and then chose patterned papers that I like the matched with each other.
The smaller pieces I decided to distress the edges using my Couture Creations non stick scissors as I find it easier to control.  In saying that I do tend to get a little heavy handed and can sometimes tear the paper, but I love that and make the most of the tears to add another feature to the layout.

Above is how I layers all the papers together prior to adding my photo and the embellishments.
I matted my photo on a small piece of snow white cardstock to give a tiny white border and then added a cherry cola cardstock mat under then white, then mounted it all on to a piece
of chipboard to give more depth.

I added a chipboard title from the 1st release chipboard collection from
Couture Creations "Happy Memories" and hotfoiled it with the Chocolate foil.

I finished it off with an array of flower clusters and a few enamel dots and the layout was complete.

Capturing the Moment | Artdeco Creations

Hi Eveyone, I thought i would share with you today a double layout that I created for a recent class that I taught here in Brisbane.

I love the Bohemian Bouquet collection however this time I wanted to nicely match the papers to the photos series that I had and for this layout I wanted to use a couple of the 'other side' patterned papers from the 12x12" paper pad.

I love the blue and white patterns in the paper pad so made blue the feature colour of my layout with a small pop of bright pink.

My layout used the damask blue and white patterned paper as well as the blue and white leaf paper.  I also chose the piece that had the yellow sunflowers around the outside.  I cut out the middle where the large white and blue damask was.
All three patterned papers became my layers papers.

My two pages also incorporated embossed cardstock.  For the white embossed piece I took a matching blue ink pad and lightly dragged it across the cardstock so the ink only took on the raised parts. On the pink embossed cardstock I used a sanding block to lightly bring out the pattern more.

For both my white and blue die cuts, I backed them with alternate colours.  I also inked all my patterned papers with the matching blue ink so soften the edges. I also did this around both the layout base cardstock.

I love little clusters of flowers and embellishments and used several across the double page.

My love for the Go Press and Foil machine continues and I hot foiled my chipboard in Sea Breeze Mirror Finish blue and the little camera that comes with the title chipboard piece I hot foiled in Pink Mirror Finish.

Little focal point were put across the pages including matted banners and tabs and also two little pieces from the paper pads, the Love square on the left side and the little wording on the right side.

I used some of the gorgeous chipboard from the Bohemian Bouquet collection, the Geo Border, and also from the 1st release of chipboard from Couture Creations, the title Capturing the Moment which also has the cute little camera.

All photos and were matted on white cardstock to help them pop.  A couple were then mounted on foam tape to add more depth to the page.
