Congratulations - Wedding Card

Hello Sunday

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

I thought I would share with you a card I made for a special order.  It turned out beautifully.  The products I used were Stampin Up including the stamps, teamed with one of the beautiful flowers from Couture Creations

Lifetime of Memories - Hearts Ease

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a layout to share with you that I have done using the beautiful new Hearts Ease paper collection.  They are the most wonderful colours to use on all our 'old' photos.

TUTORIAL
  1. I selected the Pansy Background, Small Pansies and Fading Pansies 12x12" papers from the Hearts Ease paper collection. I then also flicked through the 6x6" stack for two other prints that matched with the other papers that I selected.
  2. I cut the Fading Pansies paper down to 10x10", the Small Pansies paper cut to a 4x12" strip, and the 6x6" piece of patterned paper into a 2" piece then halved again into two 2x3"strips.
  3. Attach 6mm double sided tape to the back of all pieces.

  4.
  5. Take the large die from your Circle and Scallop Circle Nesting Dies and die cut one each in two differing colours of cardstock.  Do the same with the 3rd smallest of each of the two different Nesting Dies. With the smaller circle I chose a pale print from the 6x6" stack so that I could journal on it.

  6. Attach the circle die cut to the scallop circle die cut with 6mm double sided tape, then slice in half. Add some more of the 6mm double sided tape to the two halves of the circle and attach them to opposite sides of the Fading Pansies 4x12" strip of paper.

  7.  Now it's time to attach everything to the base patterned paper. Grab the 10x10" paper and attach it to the centre of the 12x12". Then take the 4x12" piece (this is the one with the two half circles attached) and place it just below centre across the 10x10" square. Then position the two small 2x3" pieces across the 4x12" piece just above centre.
  8. To cover the lower seam line I found a piece of matching ribbon and attached it across the seam.  I mounted it on 6mm double sided tape and secured it on the back of the 12x12" sheet.
  9. I chose a selection of white flowers from Couture Creations and inked them in matching colours. Set them aside to dry.

The one thing I really love about the new Heart Ease collection, it now has even more in the collection including stamps, die cuts and chipboard stickers, even number/letter stickers.
  10. I decided to do a watermark effect on the Fading Pansies patterned background and I did this using the large and small fob watch stamps.
  11. Mount your photo with 3D foam dots or foam mounting tape and position it on your page.
  12. I selected a few of the chipboard die cuts along with a small die cut insect and positioned them on my layout.
  13. I adhered the small circle to the small scallop circle and then I put a small saying on it in freehand (I so hate my handwriting).
  14. I then placed my flowers around my layout and once I liked the how it looked adhered the flowers with the Turbo Glue pen (my new best friend).
  15. WOOT WOOT - we're Finished :)

24 May 2015

Hi Everyone,

My first post for May is for something that we all love. Desk calendars.  Yes, yes, I can hear you say "but it is May and not January". Does it really matter I ask? My answer is always no, because we all need and want one, and most of the time there is never one around when we need one.

TUTORIAL

1. Select your 12 x 12" base colour, I chose white.
Cut lengthways into a 6 x 12" sheet.
2. Fold your 6 x 12" sheet in half lengthways.
3. Obtain an off-cut from the leftover cardstock to attach inside
to hold the back to the front portions, to anchor it.
4. Take a matching spritz and lightly spray the 'A' frame card base,
then ink the edges with a matching ink and a sponge dauber.

5.Grab a selection of flowers.  I have raided the new Couture Creations white flowers and
spritzed them in colours to match with your base frame, I chose to leave some plain white.
Leave them to the side to dry.

6. Cut out two of the separate scrolls that comes in the Malvosie Corners Elegant Card Cuts set. I trimmed one down but kept the off-cuts to use on the calendar. Always, always, always use the Quick Release Die Paper as it makes it so much easier to release the cardstock/paper once cut through your machine. I can't live without this stuff.

7. Position the scrolls on the base where you think they look best for you.
I used the fantastic Turbo Glue pen to attach them to my base.

Now, did you know that Couture Creations also sells Calendar tabs.  Neither did I.
But I am so glad they do.  Think of all the gifts we can now make..... for mum's and dad's,
teachers, grandparents.  So so cool!!

8. So, grab your set of calendar tabs and mount it on to some scrap cardstock that matches
in with your colour scheme.  Find the right spot on your base, and then using the Couture Creations 6mm double sided tape adhere it to the coloured matt.  Take some of your large 3D foam
dots attach it to the clendar tab base.
9. Remember we trimmed down the one of the two scrolls we die cut and held the off-cuts aside? Well take the two off-cuts and place them around the foam mounted calendar.

10. To finish your calendar, it's time to grab your spritzed (and plain white) flowers
that you chose earlier.  Once again, using your Turbo Glue pen attach your flowers in clusters.
11. The finishing touches is taking your 2mm gemstones place them on the ends of your scrolls.
I added a couple of punched out butterflies and added a few gemstones.

Here are a couple more closeups of the finished calendar.
