L'Aquarelle Notebook | Artdeco Creations

Hi Everyone

I am sharing with you an altered notebook using the soon to be available L'Aquarelle range from ULTIMATE CRAFTS.
I love this new range and there is such an array of lovely papers that warrant fussy cutting.

So to start I deconstructed my notebook so that I could just work on my front and back covers.    I used the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Acrylic Gesso to seal both the inside and outside of the two covers.

Once dry I sprayed it with some colour sprays that I made using the yellow and pinkish red powders from the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Pigment Powder Set.  I used my heat gun to hurry up the drying process because I was being impatient.
Using the Definitons stamp set from the L'Aquarelle range I inked up the stamp with black and stamped over the covers in a few places.
Next using one of the gorgeous Couture Creations Anna Griffin Stencils, Daisy Batik, and some embossing paste added some texture to the outside of the covers. Again I dried it off with my heat gun to hurry the drying process along.

The fussy cutting that I did came from the 6"x6" paper pad.  They match in the with the yellows and pinkie reds beautifully.  I stamped the fern stamp from the Flowers and Flourishes set on some Battle Fatigue green cardstock from Ultimate Crafts and fussy cut them.

I also added a couple of flowers (Camden Cottage rose deconstructed smaller and Tie Dyed and Jewelled flowers) which I added some ink to to soften the whiteness of them.  I also tied died a piece of seam binding with matching colours to add to the finish embellishing. Due to the mixed media products that I used all of the embellishing was adhered with hot glue to ensure that it stayed 'stuck'.

Sunshiny Day | D-lish Scraps

Happy Weekend Everyone

I thought I would share with you my layout that appeared on the D-lish Scraps blog today. This is steadily becoming one of my favourite layouts of late.
So who were the lucky ones to get hold of the new FRESH CUTS Just Add Paper kit for February from D-lish Scraps  Oh my lordy it is stunning.  As soon as I got mine in the mail I just had use it for my next creation.
The gorgeous fresh citrus colours of yellow and lime would have to be my favourite colours of all time.  Be quick, there are still some available in the store.

To start I applied gesso to my white cardstock background and then used a bright yellow gelato and water, and of course my fingers to smoush it all together across the page. I dabbed off the excess moisture and then lightly dried it with my heat gun so the cardstock didn't curl and warp.

The Just Add Paper kit came with the cutest little flower stencil which I used with a snow white shimmery colour paste from Colour Blast

With all the gorgeous flowers in the kit and the wood veneer bicycle having a basket on the front I knew I just wanted my layout to look as though flowers were 'flying' out of the basket .  I used all the flowers in the kit and added an extra bright yellow rose and some forget-me-nots in yellow, green, white and one red on,

In the kit there are some really cute little bright yellow, green and white resin flowers in the kit.    I found some more in my D-lish stash of goodies so added some more to bulk up the flower cluster across the page.

I slipped one of the tags from the kit behind my mounted photo and added the lime doily behind it, added a sequin bow to the bottom corner and then used the three flair buttons to the bottom right cluster and the inside of the bike wheels.
Finally I added a title using the oh so cute puffy alphabet letters.

So, thank you so much for stopping by today and checking out my creation.

Don't forget to drop by The Scrap Suite Facebook page to see the new Cybercrop Challenges for February and some of the creations made by the Design Team.

Bye for now.

70 | Couture Creations

Well hello everyone, Anita here back on the blog today

Welcome back and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 💖

Today I have a 70th birthday card that I made using the soon to be available L'AQUARELLE range.  I really love the script background papers so I just had to use some of them for this card.

For my card base I cut a piece of  Ultimate Crafts Cardstock in SNOW WHITE to 9.75" x 6.5 " scoring at 3.25".  The card front will be smaller at 3.25" and the back a 6.5" square.
The smaller front card is cut from an 8.5" x 4.25"piece of SNOW WHITE cardstock scored at 4.25".
Next I selected CASCADE cardstock and mats for the patterned paper as follows:
one of 6.25"x6.25" - for inside back of card
two of 3"x 6.25" - for front and inside front of card
one of 4"x4" - front of smaller card
For the inside of the smaller card the VALENTINE shade of red in the Ultimate Crafts Cardstock matched perfectly to the red in the butterflies on the L'Aquarelle patterned papers.  For the mats I cut two 4" x 4" mats, and then one final 3.75" x 3.75" in the SNOW WHITE cardstock for the area to write the sentiment.

Next I chose several of the patterned papers that had the script background.  I cut each of these 0.25" smaller that each of the coloured cardstock mats.  Adhere all with doubled side tape.

The next couple of photo will show you how the card starts coming together.

Next I attached the smaller card to the right inside of the main card as in the picture below.

To finish the front of the card I inked up a piece of white seam binding with match blue and red inks and then sprayed it with water so that colours ran into each other.  I then blasted it with my heat gun to dry it quickly.

I gathered the ribbon up and twisted it into a bow and attached it with hot glue to the front of the card. I added a couple of flowers from my stash as I had run out of the Couture Creations bulk flowers and have yet to get some more.

The finishing touch to the card after the '70' was the gorgeous metal butterfly from the
L'Aquarelle  collection.

I am really happy with the end result and I hope the birthday girl loves it too.

Enchanted Tea Party | Couture Creations

Hi Everyone,

I have been playing with the Enchanted Tea Party collection designed by Denise Boddey. It is such a lovely collection and the colours so fresh and pretty.

Today's card that I have created I have to say I enjoyed making even with the fussy cutting.  That is one thing I have to say, this collection has a wonderful array of funky papers that warrant the time and effort to fussy cut them. I love the blue hues in the 12x12 paper backgrounds and just had to use them.

I started with a Snow White Ultimate Crafts Cardstock base cut to make a 5x7" card base.  I then cut a a piece of Cascade blue cardstock as a mat behind my patterned paper, and then adhering my chosen patterned paper from the 12x12" paper pad.

Next I fussy cut my chosen flowers and fob watch, adhering some with glue and the fob watch I mounted on 3D foam dots.

Once all the fussy cuts piece were adhered to the card I then added a few pieces from the ephemera pack, the black hat and one of the small playing cards.

Using the Encanted Tea Party Nesting Dies I cut out several sets of the small 'suits' from the blue and pink Couture Creations Glitter cardstock. I used alternate colours to 3D foam dot mount the suits on the from of the ephemera playing card.  The black hat ephemera piece I also attached using a 3D foam dot.

On the inside and back of the card I also used a cascade blue mat under one of the more subtle patterned papers. I used up more of the glitter dies cuts of the card suits on the inside.

On the back of the card I added another ephemera card and added the remainder glitter die cuts.

This turned out to be a nice quick easy card, even with the fussy cutting.  I hope you were even a little inspired with my creation.

Love | D-lish Scraps

Welcome back everyone,

So can someone tell where January went.  I am sure I blinked twice and it was gone.
My layout that I have done I loved the colour combination from the mood board from the January Cybercrop at The Scrap Suite on Facebook, and knew the photo I just had to use.
I can't believe that this March my husband and I will be married 9 years.  Crazy!!

To start I took a piece of white cardstock and with a heart stencil that I had from an old Just Add Paper kit using embossing paste to make a border.  Next I sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and once the paste was dry I heat set it with my heat gun.

I chose a couple of patterned papers from a Lemoncraft paper pad that I had that matched the photo.  The pinks matched the roses in my hair perfectly.  I inked the edged of the papers with gold ink before adhering them to my cardstock base. I mounted my photo on some 3D foam tape to add a little dimension.

Finally I 'embellied' up my layout using the gorgeous magnolia flowers, poppies and a couple of other flowers from previous kits. I added a pip berry stem, a flair button and finally a gorgeous raw wood veneer word especially designed by Corbett Creations.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have been crafting up a storm.  Don't forget to share your creations at The Scrap Suite when you enter the challenges.  You could be one of the lucky ones to win an exclusive D-lish Scraps kit.

Ciao for now.
