Boho Dreams Birthday

Welcome back

A friend of my husband asked me to make several birthday cards for her to give out so I thought I would share the second one I did for her.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the first so I can't share that one :( but I am really happy with the way this one turned out.  I just hope the recipient really likes it too.

I used the BOHO DREAMS 6x6" paper stack from Kaisercraft  along with some ephemera and rhinestones.
The finished card is 6x6" in size so it is still a good size if it has to be posted.

Good Friends Make Good Times Better | D-lish Scraps

Hiya Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today.
One of my closest friends, Tracey,  is the Queen of the Selfie, she has totally mastered it.  The photo in my layout was taken at one of the famous Workshop Wonders days from several years ago.  I have always loved this photo with Tracey Cooley, scrapbooking teacher extraordinaire,  who is also a dear friend. We call them T1 and T2.

I have based my layout on Gwen's January Cybercrop Challenge
and the use of the very in trend of diagonals.

So, to create my layout I thought the photo colours warranted the use of yellow and pinks.  Using a white cardstock base for my layout I took a strip of washi tape and ran it across the top of the page on an angle. After positioning my photo it was just a matter of cutting pieces of patterned paper and plain cardstock to different shapes and sizes to lay around my photo. I did use two cards from one of my hundreds of Project Life kits and a couple of different prints of washi tape.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum.
I love my enamal dots so I scattered a couple of each pink and yellow  around the page.  I heat embossed a wood veneer arrow from a previous kit in yellow.  I couldn't help but add a small cluster of flowers to the bottom left of the photo which included roses, forget-me-nots, and a small satin flower from a past Just Add Paper kit. You can find bits from previous kits there too.

When you check out the shop don't forget to look in the clearance section as you might some really good bargains. I found some coorindating words in matching colours on a Paint Chip Tab and Ombre Wordfetti.  I mounted these on some 3D foam dots.

My finishing touch was a bright yellow resin heart
and a flair from my stash. Flairs can also be found in the D-lish Scraps shop.

If you would like to join in on the Cybercrops that started on the 13th of January drop by the SCRAP SUITE and take a look.  There are all great. If you join in on the fun you will go in the draw for a Just Add Paper kit only available to cybercrop participants.
If you take part in all four challenges you will also go in the draw for a one and only kit.

Until next time, thank you so much for dropping by.

Peppa | White with 1 - January 2017 Challenge

Little Miss Busy | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone,

It has been so hot here where I live just north of Brisbane so I have been staying inside out of this terrible heat and humidity.  Fortunately I can turn on the air-conditioning and disappear in to my craft room during the day before I head to work.
Today I thought I would share with you the layout I created to showcase the January Just Add Paper kit that is available in the D-Lish Scraps open store.  It is filled with beautiful 'sorbet' colours.  If you drop by the The Scrap Suite Facebook page you will see more inspiration by the Design Team using these colours.

This is my cute little niece Lilli and she loves her mum taking photos of her.

Thanks for stopping by.

A New Year Begins

Hi Everyone
Well I hope January 2017 has already started beautifully for you and you have all been finding some time for yourselves and get some craft on.
I have been lucky to have some time to craft even though I have still been working full time and have been having fun getting messy with this layout that I have for you today on the blog.

I really wanted to keep my layout simple so that all the attention is on the photo.
I really love gold black and red together and this photo of my niece at Chinese New Year celebrations in Melbourne worked brilliantly.

To start I mixed up some of the gold pigment powder in with the gloss texture paste.  I kept adding powder until I got the richness that I wanted.

I then just smeered it across my black cardstock with a palette knife and then set it aside to dry.

Next I coloured up more of the texture paste with a red colour to match in with the photo.

I used the beautiful new 10x10" stencil from the new L'Aquarelle range called Loving Flourishes and applied the coloured up texture paste to sides of the cardstock overlapping the gold.

My next step was heat embossing my title in the Super Sparkles Gold embossing powder.  I double embossed it so make sure it was super sparkly. I also head embossed several wooden stars from my embellishment stash.

I wanted to add dimension behind my photo so I die cut two of the On the Edge die Rosey Ferns Footer in red.  I attached a piece of cardboard on the back of my photo and then added the dies to the back of the cardboard backing before gluing it down over the dried texture paste.

Finally I added the embossed title and stars around the page and  I was done.

L'Aquarelle Butterfly Card

Hi Guys,
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
I am back again today to share with you my first creation using the L'Aquarelle range from Ultimate Crafts. This is a sneak peek for you all as this collection will be released at CHA January 19-23

I needed to make a lovely birthday card and thought this range would be perfect.  The combination of the lovely watercolour papers matching with the gorgeous butterflies and birds makes it perfect for your cards and scrapbooking.
This range also has a beautiful 'card makers' range.

You're going to get excited about this new range.  It is so colourful and made for both
scrapbookers and cardmarkers.

To create my card I used Ultimate Crafts cardstock in Paper Bag and Leprechaun.  I used the Paper Bag for the card base and used the Leprechaun as the mat for the patterned paper.
I love the patterned papers and chose to cut the corner portion of one of the 12x12 papers.
After making my Christmas cards I found I was short of glitter cardstock in gold so I decided to do the next best thing..... I used gold embossing powder, Couture Creations Embossing Powder in gold Super Sparkles and embossed the four edges of my patterned paper.
To do this I just used an off-cut of paper larger than my chosen patterned paper and held it at the width I like from the edge and dabbed my Versamark ink around the edge, and then heat embossed the gold powder.

Didn't it just come up a treat :).
It just gave the paper that little extra and didn't give it the extra weight of a double mat
behind the patterned paper.

Next, because I didn't yet have the beautiful colours of the seam binding from the new range, I took a piece of white seam binding I had and inked it up in matching purples and green ink. To blend the colours together and get a softened look I spritzed the ribbon with water and then dried it off with my heat gun.

Next using the gorgeous Watercolour Butterfly Decorattor Die, I heat embossed the solid cut with gold embossing powder and the intricut butterfly with both gold and a matching green embossing powder to get a mottle affect.

Once I had finished constructing the card I added a little bit of Glitzin Glamour in
Lilac to the flowers.

Princess for a Day

Hi Everyone

I managed to find a little quiet time yesterday to create this layout using a mixture of two of the monthly Just Add Paper kits.

For my layout I became a kid again when using my mixed media products.  Normally I always use a spatula or something similar to apply my product but for this layout I used my fingers.  I can say it was so much quicker and so so much more gooey fun. For those familiar with the product, yes it is Australia's own Colour Blast.

I matted my photo on some matching pink cardstock and then used the pink cord tie from my JAP kit and wrapped it around the edge of my photo.  There are so many D-lish Scraps on this page.  Poking out from the under right side on the photo is some teal coloured punchinella.
I have also used a pink forget-me-not, some blue roses, and a few other flowers from previous JAP kits.  There are also a few bright pink resin flowers scattered over the layout along with some glitter dots from a kit and two jade resin birds, a paper doily and a flair button.Whilst these glitter dots aren't available in store at the moment these can easily be substituted with some enamal dots in matching shades. I also had to add a embellie from Charms Creations.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope my little creation inspires you to get gooey with your mixed media or at least inspires you to get back into your crafting space for a play. In saying that I am off to play again in my craft room.

Ciao,
Anita

XO

Welcome Back everyone,

The December mood board on the Scrap Suite Facebook page was Peaches and Cream.

Below is the sample page I created for the colour scheme.  The photo is of me at the high tea before my wedding with my Tante (auntie) Tina who travelled all the way from Holland to come to our wedding. She is very very special to me and I loved that she could be there to share this special time with us.

Here are a couple of closeups of my page.
All the embellishments I used on my page, flowers, flair, resins and enamel dots were purchaed through the D-lish openstore.  Pop on by to check out the yummy goodies that are for sale.

Thanks once again for stopping by.
