Shine

Hello everyone :)

My first post for Artdeco Creations for March was a layout of my beautiful niece Sabine before bike riding in Port Melbourne.  Check out the tutorial below.

I am loving the Magnolia Lane collection and love the Pantone colours and how well they all match together.

To start grab a piece of Snow White Ultimate Crafts cardstock and spritz it with a pink spray. Set aside to dry.

As the spritz was drying I cut a 6" x 12" piece of the Pretty Patches patterned paper and a 2" x 12" Rosehip Memories patterned paper from the Magnolia Lane collection. I distressed the edges of the patterned papers and then attached the Pretty Patches paper in from the left side about 1 1/2" and then centred the Rosehip Memories strip down the middle of the Pretty Patches paper.
I then took the leaf stamp from the Songbird stamp set and using a green ink stamp randomly over the spritzed cardstock.

I used two of my favourite Magnolia Lane dies, the Magnolia Frame and Magnolia Doily dies and die cut them out in the Snow White Ultimate Crafts cardstock.  As I only need one side of the Magnolia Frame die I used an offcut rather than throwing away the majority of the die cut. I cut the doily in half, half to use at the top and half to use at the bottom.

I cut two banners at 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" in the Charming Ultimate Craft cardstock and one banner in the Floral Fancy in the same size.  I distressed the edges of the three banners and then spritzed them with a matching 'mint' green colour spray.  To hurry up the drying process I dried them off with my heat gun.  I then took the butterfly stamp from the Timeless Garden stamp set and stamped the butterflies over the banners in a pink ink.
Using the same 'mint' spritz that I sprayed the banners with I sprayed two of the magnolia flowers.  I then also chose one of the large Cottage Pollen from Couture Creations bulk flowers and inked the edges in pink.  I like to spray my flowers with a pearlised spritz so that the ink softens a little..
Again use your heat gun if you want to speed up the drying process on your flowers.
I used a punch to punch out a heap of smaller banners in patterned paper and the Charming and Pandora Ultimate Crafts cardstock. Again I spritzed them with my 'mint' spritz.
From the Pretty Patches patterned paper I fussy cut the butterfly from the frame.
I think I pretty much spritzed all my embellishments for the page.

I used 3D mounting tape behind my photo so that I could tuck my larger banners and strip of Magnolia Frame under the bottom edge, and then added a few of the 3mm pearls to the die cut strip.

Next I took one half of the doily and tucked it under the top right side of the photo and attached a few 3mm pearls to it as well. Then added one of the large paper flowers from the Rosettes embellishments.

I tucked the second half of the doily to the bottom right corner of the photo prior to attaching my array of flowers to the right side. I took a second smaller rosette from the pack that matched in with my colour theme.
Take a piece of white twine and glued it down from under the bottom right corner of the photo under the flowers to the right side of the layout on a slight hang. Take the smaller banners and add a small 3D dot to the back then place them along the twine so that it looks like they are hanging.
To finish chose a title.  I chose an mdf SHINE title, and heat embossed it with a matching embossing powder.

Below are some more close up photos of the finished layout.
