Something different......

Hi Guys,

I don't blog much and when I do, as you know it is my craft.  So this evening while doing up some more blog posts I thought I would share some photos of my two furkids.  Molly my labrador is 6 1/2 and Max my Bull Terrier cross is nearly 12 years old.
My husband and I don't have children so our angels are inside munchins and live in luxury, well I think so anyway.

I love Vintage

I love doing vintage layouts so I thought I would share a few with you that I have done.  I guess it is because of all the earth tones colours but also because I absolutely love old photos.

Maybe they might inspire you to create some of your own :)

Happy crafting :)

Little Miss Giggles

Hi Everyone,

I've fallen in love again with the Vintage Rose collection by Couture Creations and have been playing with my paper stack again and all the offcuts that I keep. So this month I've teamed it up with two dies from the new Secret Garden collection of dies. Today I have a layout that was pretty quick and easy to create.

Using the Simone's Style die from the Amarllyis collection, cut four die strips from a sheet of Vintage Rose paper.  Choose another two prints that you like and cut two strips the same size and one about 4" wide.  Attach your die cuts to the reverse of each of the four strips, then attach all together and adhere to a selected 12x12" patterned sheet from the Vintage Rose paper stack.

I cut three of the Tall Flourish from the Secret Garden collection and because I love it so much one of the Classic Vine dies from the Vintage Rose collection. I then chopped the Classic Vine into four smaller pieces.

One more die to cut out, which I did 24 times is the Layered Bloom from the Secret Garden collection of dies.  I layered three together and made a total of 8 blooms. When using glue dots I always add the punch or die cut item to the glue dot and then carefully remove them from the paper strip prior to adding them to my layout or card. Don't forget to add a pearl to the centre of each flower too :)

It's now time just to construct it the way you like.  I used 18mm mounting tape on the reverse of my photo to pop it up before tucking in all the flourishes and embellies behind it. I found a bit of matching gauze in my stash which I gathered onto some double sided tape and placed behind the photo. I took two of the white bulk flowers and blinged them up with some Glitzin' Glamour, and added some other flowers to the layout along with a chipboard title and a few inked up wooden flowers too.

Below are some closeups of the layout details.

Couture Creations - Christmas Emporium Paper Stack

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would quickly share with you a card that I created using the new Couture Creations Christmas Emporium papers that are now in your local scrapbooking stores.  They are such beautiful papers and have such lovely colours.  Check out my blog for a couple more that appeared during July on the Couture Creations blog. I hope you like them.

You Make My Heart Smile

Back again with another post of August.  I hope everyone is crafting and getting some inspiration from the posts on the blog.

With Secret Garden being one of the new release collections for August I have been enjoying playing with some of the new dies.  Check out my latest creation below.

For this card I decided to go a little larger and cut out a card base for a 6x8" card.  I then adhered my absolute favourite print from the Vintage Rose collection paper pad BLOOMS IN GREEN to the front of the card. Down the left and right hand sides of the front of the print I did some faux stitching.

I then cut out a large banner in the same print as I put on the front of the card BLOOMS IN GREEN and matted it on some white cardstock.  I again faux stitched around the entire banner. I attached a white seam binding bow to the top and then die cut a circle towards the middle of the card and then overlayed the hole with a ring also cut with the circle nesting dies. If you like faux stitch around the circle.

Next, take a piece of another matching piece, cutting it to 5"x8" and distress the long edges lightly before attaching to your card base.  Adhere the banner to the overlayed piece (mine was green) and stamp a sentiment inside the circle slightly to the right side so that you can add your embellishments.

I chose the larger of the two dies that you get in the Layered Posy die set and cut out 12 in a coordinating green cardstock.  To add a dimension to them I took my white gel pen an drew some curved lines on each of the petals, repeating for all twelve die cuts.

Using the Layered Bloom die cut four pieces and again using your white gel pen add some lines to the petals.

Using glue dots, construct each flower using three of the large and one of the small dies.  This will make four flowers for you to use.

I also then cut out four of the Tall Flourish dies again from the Secret Garden collection in a coordinating darker green.  I then snipped each into a few pieces to tuck in under the flower once they had been added to the card.

Don't forget to add a couple of pearls to the centres of your flowers and I also added one on the bow as well.

A couple of close ups of the card appear below.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great week.

Cheers,
Anita E

love the Moments......

Hi Everyone, Anita here.
Welcome to another day and another post.
The new Secret Garden Collection by Couture Creations is now out so I thought I would share with you a card that I made using some of the dies from the collection.

To start I selected some flowers from the Couture Creations Bulk Flower assortment (and a couple of my own) and spritzed and inked them up, adding a little Glitzin' Glamour to them setting them aside to dry.

From the Secret Garden collection I cut three of the Tall Flourish and enough of the Layered Blooms to make two layered flowers.

Other dies I used were the Circle and Scallop Oval Nesting Dies, Stawberry Leaf and the Keepsake Kandy doily.

For this card I decided to create a 7 1/2" x 4" card base in black, and then selected a subtle piece (I used the middle from the Time sheet) for paper from the Vintage Rose collection.  Prior to adhering it to the black card base I stitched around the edges. I then started constructing the card with all other dies cuts.  To bling it up a little I used some of the gemstones to border the scalloped oval nesting die. I took some of my white pearls and used my sharpie permanent black marker to change the colour. I added these to the centre of the flowers I made using the Layered Bloom die and also to a couple of the leaves.

Finally, select yourself a title from the Pink Words sheet from the Vintage Rose 12x12 Paper Pad and mount it on black card. Add it across the centre of the scallop oval.

Below are a couple of close ups of the finished card.
